HOW CAN INCOMING FAMILIES REGISTER THEIR STUDENTS FOR KINDERGARTEN?
WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED?
- Parent/guardian(s) government issued picture identification
- Proof of Residency – TWO of the following documents:
- Driver License or State Identification Card,
- Closing documentation or Rental Agreement, Current utility bill,
- Pay stub, Public assistance verification,
- Voter’s registration card.
- Original Birth Certificate or Passport
- Immunization Records
- Student's most recent transcript or report card
- Custody or Guardianship papers, if applicable.
- Copy of I.E.P. or 504 Plan, if applicable
WHAT ELSE DO FAMILIES NEED TO KNOW? WHY SHOULD THEY REGISTER NOW?
Families should register now to ensure that there is space in their student's home elementary school. If parents wish for their child to attend a different elementary school through intradistrict enrollment, they need to be registered and apply by June 1.
HOW WILL DISTRICT PROVIDE ELECTRONIC ACCESS TO THOSE PARENTS WHO DO NOT HAVE IT AT HOME?
We have a kiosk available just outside of our registration office.
HOW IS THE SCHOOL PRACTICING SAFETY MEASURES FOR FACE-TO-FACE REGISTRATION?
We are conducting phone registrations. We are asking parents to email, fax or drop off copies of required documentation. If needed, we are able to handle a face-to-face registration through a window between a private hallway and the registration office. We are asking the parent to wear a mask, and we expect only one family at at a time in the hallway. We would clean appropriately inbetween appointments. (We have not yet needed to do this).
