Ohio Resident Educator

Ohio Resident Educator

The Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio provides districts products, programs and services which support teachers at all stages of their careers.

Beginning Teacher and Mentor Support Training

The Resident Educator Program offered through the ESC of Northeast Ohio offers support to beginning teachers in districts and charter/community schools throughout the region. This program is designed to serve all resident educators through regular meetings, observation and direct assistance in the classroom provided by state-trained mentors, and a web-based resource for discussion and resources. Resident educators are offered the support necessary to help them meet “real world” classroom challenges as well as satisfy state requirements for the five-year professional license.

Additionally, the ESC of Northeast Ohio provides training to mentors to gain a deeper understanding of the principles of mentoring and coaching, as well as hands-on practice in conducting observations of these new teachers.
