Presented by Dan Ogilvy
During this session, we
will explore the work of Jane McGonigal and Dr. Nadine Burke Harris to honor
the well-being of the whole child in the educational setting. Participants will walk away with a framework
for their environment to implement routines throughout each school day to
mitigate the negative effects of trauma.
We will unpack the six strategies from Dr. Burke Harris’s adverse childhood experience research and the five traits of post traumatic growth from Jane McGonigal’s work to implement in the classroom environment for maximizing cognitive growth.
Dan Ogilvy, Educator Quality Consultant at the
ESC of Northeast Ohio, will be facilitating these sessions. As a teacher leader
in the Cleveland Schools for 18 years, he was the recipient of the 2018
