This professional development is a 3-Day series. We will discuss your current practices and brainstorm how teams (including central office, building administrators, intervention specialists, general education teachers, transition coordinators, school psychologists and related services) can more effectively create, implement and monitor quality plans and practices that will lead to better outcomes for all students. Participants will:
1. Understand use of the various documents and how the documents assist teams in the development of a quality ETR and IEP;
2. Understand and recognize the quality indicators of an ETR that should be in place to support the development of an IEP;
3. Understand and recognize the quality indicators of an IEP that should be in place;
4. Construct an internal monitoring system for quality and compliance of ETRs a d IEPs and
5. Create a plan to communicate this information with the entire staff and how to provide feedback and coach/support the staff member to improve their practice.
Day One: we will discuss the connection between the ETR and the IEP.
Day Two: we will help prepare your team to build an internal monitoring system.
Day Three: we will help teams problem solve their internal monitoring systems and evaluate how well practices are calibrated across the district.
Before attending Day One, it is required that all participants review the State released IEP and ETR Universal Supports Modules which will provide you with the basic “IEP/ETR 101” information needed for this PD series. It is recommended that teams review the modules together and then send us their specific questions and concerns prior to attending day one. (Modules can be found on the ODE website at: http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Special-Education/Comprehensive-Monitoring-System/IDEA-Onsite-Reviews/OEC-Monitoring-Training-Materials.
