The next time sixth graders in Annamarie Loncar and Lindsay Russell’s science classes enjoy a Starburst and Mamba candy, they’re likely to remember the three major rock types. In a recent laboratory investigation, the students used the candies as rock simulators as they learned how sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks are formed.

Back in October, Heights High seniors Eleanor Lubbers, Gabriel Mallamad, and Lev McFarland were announced as National Merit Scholars. The scholars recently shared their experiences taking Advanced Placement (AP) and College Credit Plus (CCP) classes, extracurricular activities they are involved in, and Heights High faculty that have made an impact on them during their high school careers.
