Ohio law requires that public schools, educational service centerscommunity schools and STEM schools provide in-service training to educate school personnel (i.e., nurses, teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and administrators) on child sexual abuse. This training will:
  • Define child sexual abuse and exploitation
  • Discuss short- and long-term effects for victims
  • Identify risk factors and those most at risk for sexual abuse
  • Recognize behavioral, emotional, and physical signs of abuse
  • Explore facts about student disclosure 
  • Describe best practices for staff in response to student disclosure
  • Outline reporting requirements in Ohio and expectations of post-reporting
Audience:   All School District Employees (I.E., nurse, teacher, counselor, school psychologist or administrator)
