Designed for administrators, principals, supervisors, and leadership teams that support preschool, this professional learning series offers a deeper dive into compliance and best practices regarding play based assessment (PBA) and evaluation team reports (ETRs), Individual Education Programs (IEPs), determining the least restrictive environment (LRE), and the Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) monitoring process at the early childhood level. Additionally, the provision of preschool itinerant services, the transition from early intervention (EI) to preschool, preschool special education indicators, and the Interagency Agreement (IAA) in Cuyahoga County will be addressed as applicable. Reviewing the Universal Preschool ETR and IEP support on the Departments of Education and Workforce (DEW) and/or Children and Youth (DCY) websites is recommended before attending the series.
Although it is preferable that preschool teams attend the two day series, the Community of Learners (CoL) series format provides individuals the opportunity to register for and attend the half-day topic(s) that pertain to their role. There will be “into practice” activities, including journaling and a final “project” that satisfies the CoL requirements. The series dates, times and topics are listed below:
January 10, 2025 (9:00am-11:30am): PBA, ETR + Transition from EI including the IAA
