Description:  
The ESC of Northeast Ohio presents a series of hybrid/fully online didactic study groups focused on understanding and meeting the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is being offered to general and special educators, administrators and related personnel.  Study groups will meet biweekly for 90 minute sessions (early evening with the day chosen based on participant schedules).  

Study group meeting the weeks of March 16, 30, April 13 & 20, 2021
 Study Groups are limited to 10 participants

Participants will have the opportunity to explore some of the current areas of research emphasis in terms of understanding and treading ASD. Topics that will be addressed include:
 1. Etiology of ASD; Neurobiological and environmental contributions
 2. Early identification and intervention; State of Science
3.Pharmacological intervention in ASD; Types of patterns of medication use
4.Complementary and Alternative Medical (CAM) intervention in ASD ( e.g., gluten-free casein-free diet, chelation, sensory integration therapy)

The time for the first session is tentative and will be announced in a confirmation email sent to you before March 16th.
