The ESC of Northeast Ohio presents a series of hybrid/fully online didactic study groups focused on understanding and meeting the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is being offered to general and special educators, administrators and related personnel. Study groups will meet biweekly for 90 minute sessions (early evening with the day chosen based on participant schedules).
Study group meeting the weeks of January 13, 27, February 10 & 24, 2020
Study Groups are limited to 10 participants
Participants will learn and develop strategies to reduce confusion and/or over stimulation and enhance engagement to promote more positive classroom behavior for students with ASD. Participants in this study group will include:
1. Reading about strategies to reduce confusion and/or overstimulation and enhance engagement of students with ASD
2. Completing a functional behavioral assessment (FBA) and developing positive behavioral intervention supports (PBIS) for their own student or student scenario provide to them
3. Sharing experiences and successful strategies
4. Developing, implementing and evaluating the use of EBPs in your practice
5. Actively engaging in discussion
The time for the first session is tentative and will be announced in a confirmation email sent to you before January 13th.
