Description: |
Learn how the State of Ohio is focusing on skills-based employment and preparation for students as it partners with career centers, compacts, and school districts to create pathways in order to fill numerous job openings at multiple Ohio agencies. The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (ODAS) has appointed a liaison to work directly with schools on behalf of state agencies to create flexible pathways leading to apprenticeships and full time permanent employment. For example, ODOT’s apprenticeship program in highway maintenance and highway technician offers training in flagger or traffic control and CDL preparation leading to Class B CDL licensure.
