Description:  
In this series of workshops, participants will learn to identify and use high quality PBAs for middle school or high school mathematics classrooms that challenge students to use higher order thinking skills. PBAs require students to create a product or complete a process integrating math concepts responding to real world problems. Tasks range from simple constructed responses to complex projects demonstrating math literacy and depth of knowledge.

Participants will: 
  • Select and facilitate two PBAs of their choice for their middle or high school classrooms 
  • Implement PBAs with their students between workshop sessions
  • Learn to score student work and share outcomes during the final virtual session
