What extra supports do English learners need as they learn to read in English?  How can insights from the Science of Reading help our ELs?  Explore how to teach reading to English learners at different levels of language proficiency.  Learn about additional supports needed in phonemics, oral language development, vocabulary and background.  Teaching reading to newcomers in middle and high school will also be addressed.  Join this session for practical strategies.   Intended audience includes EL teachers, reading specialists, classroom teachers, literacy coaches, and coordinators.
