In our GO SLOW online book studies, we take the most popular books in education--the books that you’ve been dying to read but have difficulty finding the time--and build in a structured support system so that you can go from learning about pedagogy to successfully applying it.
How It Works:
Read one book over the course of a whole semester, usually one chapter per week.
Attend a weekly virtual cohort coffee chat for collaboration, community, and brainstorming.
Provide a brief weekly reflection or artifact of learning
For this particular GO SLOW Online Book Study, we’ll examine why the moment is right for critical reflection on what has been assumed to be a core part of schooling. Based on rigorous and replicated research, UNgrading is the first book to show why and how faculty who wish to focus on learning, rather than sorting or judging, might proceed. It includes honest reflection on what makes #ungrading challenging, and testimonials about what makes it transformative.
Program Time: Weekly Virtual Cohort Coffee Chats: Mondays from 4:00 - 4:30 pm
