Anesa Harris is an Urban Mathematics Specialist with the State Support Team Region 3 (SST3) at the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio. She brings over nine years of experience in education, including seven years as a high school mathematics teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). Prior to joining CMSD, Anesa supported students in kindergarten through eighth grade through nonprofit educational programs in Cleveland, providing academic support and enrichment opportunities for diverse learners.
Throughout her career, Anesa has focused on improving mathematics outcomes through research-based instruction, targeted intervention, and strong student relationships. Her experience includes designing a mathematics intervention course rooted in student achievement data, implementing innovative strategies to support learners with diverse needs, and collaborating with educators and school leaders to strengthen instructional practices.
Anesa is passionate about building educator capacity and helping schools create meaningful learning experiences that empower all students to succeed in mathematics while ensuring equitable access to rigorous grade-level content. She lives in Cleveland's Edgewater neighborhood with her partner, Jordan, and their daughter, Averi.
