Care Walter is an Educational Consultant with the State Support Team (SST) Region 3 at the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio. She is an Urban PBIS specialist responsible for supporting school districts through coaching, developing & facilitating professional development and providing methodology assistance for school personnel. Her area of focus at the SST is Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) in connection to special education and school climate. Care began her career in education teaching students with disabilities. She worked as an Intervention Specialist for 15 years in 7-12 classrooms. After working to earn a license in Educational Administration she obtained a position as a middle school administrator. She spent 8 years supporting students, staff and parents. During this time she developed an in-depth capacity for secondary PBIS by supporting her staff to implement a program that earned multiple state awards. She acquired a broad set of skills during her time as a teacher and then building administrator. Care believes that coaching and support is the most effective way to be a changemaker.
Care, her husband Chris, daughter Kasey and son Kellen enjoy spending time with family and friends that all live in the Cleveland area. They travel as a family and are always looking for new and fun experiences to have together.
