Earlier this month, 25 Heights High juniors attended and had a resounding success at the 2025 Youth Career Olympics in the Huntington Convention Center. The juniors were among more than 200 students from seven area high schools who had the opportunity to compete in ten competitive events and attend a job fair.
Organized by
Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.), the Youth Career Olympics showcases the business skills that area high school students have developed throughout the school year in team-based and solo competitive events. These events included: Financial Literacy, Employability Skills, Program Cover Design Competition, Visual Display, Community Service, Knowledge Bowl, Prepared Speaking, Decision Making, Business Plan, and Career Preparation.
Congratulations to the following Heights High School students who placed in the Top 3 for their category:

The juniors who attended are part of Heights High’s
Job’s for Ohio’s Graduates classes, which empowers young people in their pursuit of completing their high school education while also setting them onto a career path with real-world experience. The students were led by Heights High teachers Brittany Mosgo and Sarah Parker along with Jasmine Martin, a Career Specialist Instructor from Y.O.U.
Students heard from keynote speaker Kofi B., a two-time Emmy-nominated musician, actor, and producer, who inspired the students with his words of wisdom. “Much like our Heights students,” remarked Mrs. Parker, “Kofi B. is a shining example of someone who has thrived in the face of adversity.”
The participants also had the opportunity to explore meaningful job opportunities from 26 employers throughout Northeast Ohio at a connected job fair. “This allowed our students to learn about available career paths, network with employers and foster connections that will shape their professional journey,” said Mrs. Mosgo.
