SEL's Greenview Welcomes Third Graders

Greenview Campus recently welcomed third grade students from Rowland, Sunview, and Adrian Elementary Schools with a series of exciting presentations designed to help prepare them for the transition to fourth grade for the 2024-2025 school year. Third graders from each K-3 building traveled by bus on scheduled days on May 10th and May 14th-15th to meet administrators and staff, take a tour of the school campus, and learn more about the many programs and opportunities available to students at Greenview. Upon arrival, students were greeted with an outdoor performance by the sixth-grade orchestra near the main entrance. Members of the fourth-grade dance group welcomed the students as they entered the building with cheers, high-fives, and applause. The Greenview Band dialed up the excitement as students entered the gym with a rousing rendition of Seven Nation Army.

A brief presentation in the fourth-grade gym began with friendly greetings from Principal Mrs. Young who introduced other members of the Greenview administrative staff, including Assistant Principals Mrs. Quick and Mr. Dziak, Student Support Specialists Mr. Coleman and Mr. Days, School Counselors Mrs. Budziak, and Mrs. Delgado, and Social Worker Mrs. Hodge. In addition to information about daily routines and procedures, students learned about academic offerings including STEM and World Language classes, as well as PBIS incentives such as Field Day and school dances which reward students for following the Greenview Way. Students were then treated to an impressive performance by the fourth-grade dance group.

During the final portion of the program, students were divided into smaller groups to participate in three different activities which included a tour of the fourth-grade wing and playground area, Q & A session with fourth-grade members of the National Elementary Honor Society, and activities led by school counselor Mrs. Budziak. A special thank you to Greenview administrators, staff, and students for providing our third-grade students with a warm welcome and fun experience as they prepare for their next journey in the SEL Schools!
