Central Primary School Celebrates Irish-American Dance & Culture

When The Brady-Campbell School of Irish dancers visited Central Primary School, our Bearcats received a culturally rhythmic treat. Six professional Irish dancers from ages 4-13 performed traditional Irish dance for our students, who enjoyed every moment. In Irish dance, a group of traditional dance forms that originated in Ireland, encompass group and solo dance for social, competitive, and performance purposes. It is performed traditionally with intricate foot work and is most known for the dancers performing with a stiff upper body. Unlike other dance forms, Irish dancers do not move their arms or hands so that footwork is accented. With beautiful traditional dance uniforms and fancy footwork, Central Bearcats had a toe-tapping good time as they were exposed to a very important part of Irish- American culture.
