PSW Training -
All subs must complete a series of PublicSchoolWorks (PSW) online courses in topics mandated/suggested for educational employees by ODE/ODH/OSHA.
SubSkills Training -
Substitute teachers with no background in education, who have not student taught, or those who have been out of a classroom for more than five (5) years, are required to complete a substitute training course. The SubSkills Course is an online training in curriculum, instructional technique, classroom management, health and safety, legal concerns, and professionalism.
Substitutes must complete an assessment at the end and are required to send it to our office as proof of completion. Participants in the online class will have year-long access to the online training course and material that can be used in the classroom. Please use Ohio Substitute Teacher Services as your school district when registering for the SubSkills Course. The cost for the online course is $39.95 paid directly to STEDI.
