All parents face similar challenges. Do your children always do their chores without asking? Never whine when they don’t get what they want? Eat all their vegetables? Go to sleep at the right time without a struggle? Of course not!

Triple P Positive Parenting Program

The Triple P Positive Parenting Program can help! Research has shown that positive parenting not only leads kids to do better in school, have healthy friendships and have higher self-esteem; it also leads to parents that are less stressed and have fewer arguments with their partners about parenting.

How the Program Works

Triple P works by giving parents practical strategies to manage misbehavior and prevent problems from occurring in the first place. Five core principles of positive parenting help to support confident children and strong family relationships:

  • Ensuring a safe and engaging environment
  • Promoting a positive learning environment
  • Using assertive discipline
  • Maintaining reasonable expectations, and
  • Taking care of oneself as a parent

What does Triple P at Bright Beginnings have to offer?

Individual Sessions:
Parents are offered brief 30-minute sessions that address any specific behavior challenge or parenting issue. Crying, hitting, homework, nightmares, sharing, separation anxiety, interrupting, work/family balance and much, much more. Sessions may occur over the phone, via Zoom or face-to-face if requested. 2 - 6 sessions take place over the course of a few weeks.

Discussion Groups:
Bright Beginnings provides two-hour small group sessions that offer advice and strategies for tackling common behavior problems. Groups may be offered at community locations or virtually. Discussion group topics include:

  • Dealing with disobedience
  • Developing good bedtime routines
  • Managing fighting and aggression
  • Hassle-free shopping with children
  • Hassle-free meal-times

Positive Parenting Course:
Bright Beginnings provides an 8-week course that includes 5 group sessions supported by 3 individual coaching sessions by phone. Small groups of parents attend in-depth training in positive parenting skills that apply across a broad spectrum of behavioral issues. The course offers understanding behind the causes of child behavior, how to give directions children will follow, and how to implement behavior change while building positive relationships with your children.
