College Application Week Gives Euclid Seniors an Opportunity to Apply

This week, Euclid High School hosted College Application Week, an event designed to support Seniors as they take their next big step toward college, career or military readiness. All week, students were invited to meet with counselors and college representatives during lunch periods in the LaunchPad to receive one-on-one help with college applications, transcript requests, fee waivers, and letters of recommendation through Xello, the district’s college and career readiness platform.

Throughout the week, representatives from several colleges – including Tri-C, Youngstown State, Eastern Michigan, University of Akron, Cleveland State University, University of Toledo and Thiel College – visited Euclid High School to provide direct support. Some colleges even offered on-the-spot admissions decisions, giving students immediate feedback on their applications. In addition, Euclid’s CollegeNow representative was available on Thursday to help families with FAFSA completion and financial aid questions.

This event replaced the traditional College Acceptance Day, allowing students more meaningful time with college admissions professionals and their school counselors. By extending the process over the course of a week, students could move step-by-step through the college application process, ensuring they understood each part and had access to expert guidance. To kick things off, staff and students wore their college spirit gear on Monday to celebrate the start of Application week.

What is Xello?

Xello is an interactive, online program used across all grade levels in Euclid Schools to help students plan for the future. Beginning in PreK and continuing through graduation, students use Xello to explore career interested, research colleges, track academic goals, and prepare for post-secondary success.

For high schoolers, Xello can become a powerful tool during the college application process. It connects directly with the Common App, helps students request transcripts and serves as a hub for letters of recommendation and scholarship opportunities. Younger students use Xello to complete career exploration activities, build digital portfolios, and set academic and personal goals.

By integrating Xello into College Application Week, Euclid High School is helping students take charge of their futures.
