State Evaluation Systems

In order to evaluate teachers, school counselors, principals, and assistant principals in Ohio, educators must become credentialed evaluators by attending a state-approved training and passing an examination. Evaluator credentials must be renewed every 2 years.

  • OPES Support Series - additional support for those who evaluate principals/assistant principals or those who are evaluated under the OPES system

  • OHIOES Training - training and assistance opportunities with LEA set-up, progress monitoring, or navigation

Licensure & Legislation

The following training and networks are in place to support districts as they navigate changes and updates to licensure and legislation in real time.

  • Code of Conduct - in-person training to support legislation surrounding mandatory Code of Conduct reporting violations (fee associated)

  • NEOASPA - A professional organization open to all with the goal of collaboration and sharing effective practices, expertise and resources related to employment practices, personnel issues, human resource functions, and related legal topics. This network includes quarterly in-person meetings and an annual membership fee per district.
  • The HR Collective - monthly virtual meetings state-wide; one meeting (1st Monday each month) focuses on the learning; (2nd Monday each month) focuses on the work; allowing district representatives to work in a guided, supportive, collaborative environment on the monthly topic.

  • Custom Support - are you interested in support or assistance surrounding another topic or project (i.e. salary study, staffing audit, Central Office staffing recommendations, developing an Onboarding system, updating job descriptions, etc.); use this flyer for ideas or contact Gretchen directly.
