Gifted Education Services & Support

The specific mission of the Gifted Education Department of the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio is to provide a continuum of services and support to meet the cognitive, academic, and affective needs of gifted children. To achieve this, the ESC offers districts a range of services, support, and resources, including:

Gifted Education Supervisors
The Gifted Education Department of the ESC of Northeast Ohio is composed of educational professionals who are committed to providing leadership, consultation, and support for the coordination of gifted services to consortium districts. All supervisors are licensed in gifted education as well as administration/supervision. They provide administrative and teacher support while interpreting the Ohio Operating Standards for Identifying and Serving Students Who are Gifted to ensure districts are in compliance with their gifted program development and implementation.
Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
PLC for Gifted Coordinators
A professional learning community designed for gifted coordinators to expand their knowledge base and build personal connections with colleagues who want to improve their practice.

PLC for Gifted Intervention Specialists
A professional learning community designed for gifted intervention specialists to collaborate with peers on effective differentiation practices and resources related to meeting the needs of gifted learners.
