The Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio supports districts in the development of school-based health programs to meet student, staff, and community needs. Information on school-based health centers (SBHCs) in Ohio can be found through the Ohio School-Based Health Alliance (“the Ohio Alliance”).
The Ohio Alliance is the only nonpartisan, statewide organization created to advance and support the sustainability and expansion of school-based health care to reduce disparities and improve health and education outcomes for Ohio’s students, their families, and communities.
Resources such as toolkits and fact sheets are available at the Ohio Alliance’s website. Additionally, the Ohio Alliance collects data in an annual census of preexisting SBHCs.
In late 2024, the Ohio Alliance will be launching their SBHC Startup Toolkit, which is a free resource for districts and health operators wanting to establish a school-based health center. The toolkit contains best practices in school-based health operations. Check back for a direct link to the toolkit coming soon!
