Brooklyn City Schools and St. Thomas More Partner for Holiday Food Drive

Brooklyn City Schools families will have an abundant supply of non-perishable food items this holiday season thanks to the generosity of the St. Thomas More School and Parish. On Friday, November 21st, Brooklyn City Schools staff members visited St. Thomas More School to pick up approximately 6,764 donated food items! Members of St. Thomas More’s Student Activities Committee assisted with collecting and boxing the food donations.

St. Thomas More students assisted Brooklyn staff with loading the numerous boxes of canned soup and vegetables, pasta and instant potatoes, peanut butter and other non-perishable food items which were collected by the school and parish community over a two-week period.

The substantial donation will help support Brooklyn families through various initiatives, including upcoming “Take What You Need” events and the Hurricane Family Resource Center Community Food Pantry. The Brooklyn City Schools extends its heartfelt gratitude to the students, staff, and community members of St. Thomas More School and Parish for their generous support on behalf of the Brooklyn school community this holiday season!
