We are launching our 10th year of the NEO Science Specialists (NEOSS) Network at the ESCNEO in
September 2025. We will host 6 meetings during the 2025-2026 school year. The meetings will
alternate between full K-12 participation to meetings for 9-12 and K-8 Science educators. With over
40 school districts represented in the network, we hope to expand to include Science educators from
new school districts not previously represented.
Participants in the NEOSS Network 10.0 will be engaged in reinforcing the key content from the core
practices associated with Ambitious Science Teaching and Building Thinking Classrooms, our major
focus
topics for the last two years; grasping vertical articulation of
disciplinary core ideas (DCIs), science and engineering practices SEPs),
and cross-cutting concepts (CCCs); deepening understanding of AI
applications in Science classrooms; promoting outdoor learning
experiences; discussing K-12 scope-and-sequence issues; evaluating
resources using the ODEW HQIM rubrics; and meeting in grade-level
or disciplinary breakout groups.
