The Early Childhood Supervisory Network meetings will include guest presentations from regional partners, resources, and topics of critical interest to programs including Step Up to Quality (SUTQ)/licensing, Science of Reading (SoR) in Early Childhood, interagency agreement (IAA), preschool special education, (PSE) supporting challenging behavior, inclusion supports and various types of classroom foci and curriculums in early childhood.
Participants will:Connect their district priorities to early childhood initiatives and best practices to create positive outcomes for preschool students.
Correlate DCY guidance on SUTQ, Early Learning Assessment (ELA), PSE, and more with current practice and collaborate with colleagues on the use of data to improve systems in early childhood programs.
Identify and analyze early childhood data points e.g. SUTQ, Comprehensive Assessment, Preschool Special Education Indicators and through discussions with peers and regional support personnel, determine next steps to support their districts.
Identify methods and materials that early childhood leaders can employ to support early childhood educators, including preschool itinerant teachers and related service providers.
There will be opportunities for attendees to network after the formal meeting from 12:00-1:00. These in-person meetings will be scheduled for 3 hours, with materials available in advance. Additional technical assistance or specific workgroup time will be available after the meeting ends upon request or as issues arise. The Interagency Agreement workgroup is scheduled to meet at 1:00.
