High School National Honor Society Students Plant 65 Trees in Nearby Park

On Friday, November 5th, the distinguished members of the National Honor Society from Garfield Heights High School planted 65 trees in Dunham Park, demonstrating service to their community, which is one of the four pillars upheld by NHS. The trees themselves were part of a larger donation to the Metroparks, but the students used their hard work and labor to heel these specimens into the parkland so that they can be enjoyed for generations to come. The Metroparks staff was so impressed by our students that they asked if they could record a videotape of the work to use as a training guide for future planters. Special thanks go out to adviser Joni Wanderstock for her leadership of our National Honor Society students, with additional gratitude to Superintendent Hanke, Ms. Hager, Brenda Binns, Carrie Bergholz, and Faith Conroy.

Here are the Garfield Heights High School National Honor Society members: Aaliyah Alston, Oliver Boyette, Michael Diamond, Abigail Emerson, Sonny Johnson, Brian King, Allison Kolenich, Diamond Long, Trachelle McClain Jones, Sebastian Miranda Rios, Ava Pietryk, Brandon Rambharan, Jada Richard, Brooklyn Rodgers, Cristian Rodriquez, Azian Smith, Zion Smith, Natalie Steponick, Makayla Svoboda, Taylor Vild and Kayla Williams.

Way to go National Honor Society. Thank you for your hard work, leadership, and community service!
