Warrensville Heights City School District to Open Early Childhood Learning Center

The Warrensville Heights City School District Board of Education this month approved plans to create an Early Childhood Learning Center to expand its 21st century learning facilities.

The Early Childhood Learning Center will provide more space for the district’s scholars and is a response to enrollment increasing 22% since 2015, when the District began a new strategic plan to improve academics and build new facilities. As part of this plan, the district opened doors to the new Warrensville Heights Elementary School in 2021 and is currently constructing a new Middle School and High School, expected to be completed in 2023. 

Options for this future school include a property adjacent to the Warrensville Heights Elementary School, located at 4265 Northfield Road and currently owned by Mt. Zion Church. If the building purchase is finalized, it will be renovated to model the district’s elementary school. 

“With the increased enrollment at our Elementary School, the need for space was apparent. The goal of the District is to provide state of the art, 21st century Learning facilities for  scholars of all grades,” said Donald J. Jolly, II, Superintendent of WHCSD. 

WHCSD is currently in the process of demolishing its old elementary school facilities after analysis by construction firms and the State of Ohio Facilities Commission determined that renovation was not cost effective.
