Lakewood Elementary Students Share Ramadan Traditions with Classmates
Two second-grade students from Hayes Elementary School recently delivered a presentation on Ramadan to their classmates in Ms. Perez's class. The students shared various traditions observed by their families during this significant Islamic holy month, including fasting practices, family gatherings, and charitable acts.
To enhance the cultural experience, one student's mother provided hands-on instruction, guiding the class in creating traditional lanterns commonly displayed in Muslim households during Ramadan celebrations.
The presentation offered students an educational opportunity to learn about religious and cultural practices different from their own.
