Middle School Students Pitch Mineral-Based Innovations in Shark Tank Style Project
S

tudents from Greenbriar Middle School's 6th grade STEM program recently participated in a Shark Tank-inspired capstone project focused on rocks and minerals. The young innovators researched the applications of minerals across various sectors including agriculture, healthcare, technology, and energy before developing their own mineral-based products aimed at solving real-world challenges.
Each student created detailed infographics showcasing their product's features, mineral composition, and pricing strategy. The project culminated with students presenting their innovations to local business leaders in a format similar to the popular TV show "Shark Tank," seeking theoretical investments for their concepts.
The hands-on project combined elements of earth science, business development, and public speaking, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding of minerals' practical applications while developing entrepreneurial skills.
