Fairview High School honored its graduating seniors on Wednesday, May 7, during the 60th annual Scholars Reception, a tradition celebrating academic excellence and community support.
“Scholars Reception is a celebration of hard work, character, and the incredible potential of the Class of 2025,” said Fairview High School Principal Christopher Vicha. “It’s more than just an awards night. It’s a reminder that when a community believes in its students, amazing things can happen. We’re proud of each graduate and excited to see the impact they’ll make in the world.”
This year, 35 different awards were given to the Class of 2025 at Scholars Reception. Over 70 scholarships were awarded to seniors, totaling $186,919.
Scholarship opportunities were as diverse as the individuals and organizations that sponsored them. Community organizations like the Fairview Park Women’s Club, John C. Haney Foundation, Fairview Park Youth Association, and Fairview Park PTA continued to provide steadfast support for our students.
Memorial scholarships donated by alumni, community members, their families, and former Fairview Park City Schools staff also made up a large part of the donations. The Fairview Park Education Foundation presented 21 of the scholarships, totaling $28,000.
“This community continues to amaze me,” said Denise Devine, president of the Fairview Park Education Foundation. “We are so grateful to the families, alumni, community members, and organizations who invest in the futures of our students. Their generosity makes nights like this possible.”
The evening also highlighted Polaris Career Center's growing partnership with the Fairview Park Education Foundation. Thanks to donations from the FHS classes of 1971, 1973, and 1982 and the Fairview Park Youth Association, ten seniors pursuing careers in the trades received $300 worth of professional tools.
Fairview High School extends heartfelt thanks to all the families, organizations, and alumni who continue to invest in the next generation of leaders.
