Euclid Continues Stay in the Game Attendance Network Partnership

At Euclid Schools, we know that consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s success — and this year, we’re making it a top priority. That’s why we’re proud to partner once again with the Cleveland Browns’ Stay in the Game Attendance Network, a statewide initiative that connects schools, families, and community partners to keep kids learning, growing, and achieving every day of the school year.

In Ohio, chronic absenteeism — missing 10 percent or more of the school year for any reason, excused or unexcused — is a serious concern. That’s just four days each quarter. Research shows that missing as few as 2–4 days in September can predict a pattern of poor attendance that lasts all year. The impact is real: chronic absence is linked to lower reading proficiency by third grade and is one of the strongest early warning signs that a student may be at risk of dropping out of high school. During the 2020–21 school year, at least 14.7 million students nationwide were chronically absent — nearly double the pre-pandemic number of 8 million — with students in high-poverty communities facing especially steep barriers, from transportation challenges to health issues.

Through Stay in the Game, we are doubling down on strategies that work — building strong relationships with students and families, recognizing good attendance, and removing obstacles that keep students from class. Whether it’s helping connect families to resources, celebrating milestones, or providing mentorship for students who need extra support, our goal is simple: every student, every day. Together, we can ensure that every Panther is present, engaged, and ready to succeed.
