35 Free Splash Pads & Spray Parks to Cool Off at in Cuyahoga County

Two kids playing at a splash pad in the summer

Welcome to “35 Free Splash Pads & Spray Parks to Cool Off at in Cuyahoga County,” your go-to guide for family-friendly, no-cost water fun this summer! From the City of Cleveland’s network of spray basins that turn on when temps hit around 80°F to suburban splash pads open seasonally, these 20 locations offer refreshing ways to beat the heat without breaking the bank. There’s something here for every summer vibe you’re seeking!

Just a reminder: be sure to verify the exact address and current hours before setting off on your journey. For example, Lakewood Park’s splash pad generally runs from the beginning of June through the beginning of October from 8am to 8pm, while Cleveland’s spray basins are usually active midday through early evening once the temperature hits 80 degrees. Have fun and be safe!

Parent Tip: As parents, we know how important restrooms are as part of the day’s journey, especially when water play is involved! While many splash pads have facilities nearby, here are a few where restrooms are not available on-site: Overlook Park (Avon Lake), All Cleveland City Spray Basins, Crocker Park (Westlake) – note: public restrooms are available elsewhere in the plaza, but not at the splash pad itself, Calvin Park (Seven Hills), McElvey Park & McKelvey Fountain (Berea). Plan accordingly with a restroom stop before or after visiting these spots or pack those just-in-case supplies!

Spray bins are great for younger kids since there's no deep water, just spray, for endless active fun! Just as an FYI, there will be little to no standing water and therefore no lifeguards.
