Maple Heights City Schools Partners with Cuyahoga Community College Upward Bound Program TRiO
Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, Maple Heights City Schools and Cuyahoga Community College are partnering to provide the TRiO Upward Board Program to all 9th to 12th-grade students. TRiO is a year-round program that helps students enhance their academic skills and prepare them for life beyond high school.
Students who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher have the opportunity to participate in TRiO. There also are income guidelines. Students receive a monthly stipend. To receive the monthly stipend, students must attend one in-person session after school. For the other sessions, students can attend online.

- Preparation for college entrance exams
- Preparation for the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT)
- Six-week summer academy
- College Readiness Skills
- Career Exploration Activities
- Cultural Experiences
- Mentoring
- Assistance with completing college and scholarship applications
- Free college courses for graduating seniors
- College campus visits (at no cost to our students)
