Richmond Heights Basketball State Champs to Arrive at School on Monday, March 21

The Richmond Heights Boys Basketball Team captured the Division IV State Title on Sunday against New Madison Tri-Village with a score of 59-20.  This is the school’s first State Title in basketball.  Although the school district began its spring break today, all families and staff were called and invited to come up to the school on Monday, March 21 1:30 p.m. to welcome their champs home.

City officials have confirmed their attendance at the welcome back rally. Joining Mayor Kim Thomas will be City Council President Bobby Jordan as well as State Senator Kenny Yuko who is a Richmond Heights resident. The team bus had a police escort to the highway last Thursday to send them off to the final four, and they will be met by the same police escort this afternoon to bring them home.  Superintendent Dr. Renee Willis says that “this championship is not only for her school district, but for the entire city.”

It’s a new day in Richmond Heights and the future is bright.
