Cleveland Heights-University Heights' Fairfax Elementary Celebrates School Alumni in Major Way

While all of Tiger Nation is reveling in the pride and excitement of being the Kelce brothers’ hometown, Fairfax Elementary School has the special honor of being the building they attended the longest. As residents of the Lee Road area, the brothers walked and rode their bikes to their neighborhood school for the first six years of their education. And the students of Fairfax are thrilled to know it.The PTA has created two giant greeting cards that are being passed from classroom to classroom so the students can write their well wishes to the Heights grads who will face off against each other in this year’s Super Bowl. Made of out tri-fold displays, one card is painted gold and red for the Kansas City Chiefs and the other green and gold for the Philadelphia Eagles. Students in the after-school Art Club have designed and added logos representing the Eagles, Chiefs, Cleveland Heights Tigers and Cincinnati Bearcats, where the brothers played in college.

Every student and teacher in the building has had an opportunity to sign their name, with many adding personal wishes of good luck. From “You’re my favorite player” to “I live on your street,” the cards even include the kind of honesty that only comes from children as when one student wrote, “I’ve always wanted to meet Patrick Mahomes” on Travis’ card. The main hallway of the school also boasts a large football field where each student has added a sticker for the team they hope will be crowned Super Bowl Champions.
