Eight Shaker Heights Students to Showcase at National History Day in Washington, D.C.
Congratulations to the eight Shaker Heights High School AP US History (APUSH) students who have been selected by two Smithsonian museums to showcase their National History Day projects on Wednesday, June 14, in Washington, D.C. These students are taught by Sarah Davis and Joseph Konopinski.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture has chosen Samuel Luther, Wyatt Roth, Malachai Shulman and Keyshawn Ragin's National History Day documentary, "The Height of the Fight: Bill Russell as a Trailblazer for Activism in the NBA." The film will be shown in the Oprah Winfrey Theater twice during the afternoon of June 14. Free, timed tickets are required to attend: use this link if you will be in D.C.
The National Museum of American History has chosen Ezra Ellenbogen, Ingrid Holda, Meredith Hurley and Grace Kaelber's National History Day Exhibit, "The Final Frontier: How Human Computers Advanced Equality and Science at NASA." Their exhibit board will be on display at the museum until 5 p.m. as well on June 14. No ticket is required for this museum.
