Garfield Heights High School Senior Participates in Read Across America at Garfield Elementary

March 1st was Read Across America Day Garfield Heights was excited to feature an amazing Reader and Leader! Jamykle Benison is a senior at Garfield Heights High School in Ohio. He participates in multiple sports: football, track, bowling, hockey and baseball. Jamykle has been a member of the National Honor Society since his sophomore year, has a 4.0 GPA and was recently named a 2023 Dream All-American Player, an honor that recognizes the top high school athletes in all sports. 

 

Jamykle is having a  tremendous impact upon young readers in the Garfield Heights Schools. He states "I love the children. Just being able to walk in the school and brighten up their day warms my heart. I didn't have the best childhood so for me to be able to walk into a school and inspire them to do right is everything to me. 2nd & 7 gives me the chance to be the person I needed in my life." 

Paul Glazer, the Assistant Principal at William Foster Elementary, shares "Jamykle is a natural born leader. He stepped up with 2nd & 7 and really took on the initiative. He served as a role model for the kids, had good conversations with them and posted to social media."

 Jamykle plans to attend college and study pre-medicine. Everyone looks forward to seeing all that he will continue to accomplish through these efforts.
