Parma to Offer Free Breakfast and Lunch to All Students
Parma City School District has announced that it will offer free breakfast and lunch to all students starting this fall. This initiative is made possible through the United States Department of Agriculture's Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federally funded program that comes at no additional cost to local property taxpayers.
Under the CEP, the district can provide no-cost meals to all students for up to four consecutive years. The program aims to streamline meal program participation and reduce administrative burden. The district qualifies for this program as more than 25% of its students would otherwise be eligible for free or reduced-price lunches. Emily Gladish, Supervisor of Nutrition Services, assures that the quality and creativity of the menus will not be compromised, with plans to continue the "Farm to Table" initiative and introduce new ethnic food options.
