Cleveland Metropolitan School District Relaunches the Get More Opportunities Fund 2.0: Empowering Schools and Scholars with Equitable Resources
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is thrilled to announce the relaunchof the Get More Opportunities Fund (GMOF) 2.0, a revitalized initiative aimed at providing equitable,student-centered funding opportunities across all District schools. Originally established through agenerous $20M gift from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, GMOF has evolved to ensure that every schoolbenefits from its resources, in line with the District’s Future of CMSD two (of four) initiatives, Equity andAccess.
Dr. Warren Morgan, CMSD CEO: “With the relaunch of this fund, we are making a deliberate effort toensure that all our schools can enrich the educational experience of their students. This program exemplifies our commitment to equity by distributing funds in a way that considers the unique needs of each school, allowing for a more tailored approach to student success.
”The enhanced program will allocate $4M annually, with each school receiving a base allocation plus aproportional share based on enrollment. These funds will be used for initiatives that directly benefitstudents, including enhancements to learning environments, innovative educational experiences, andtechnology upgrades.

It gives us more opportunities tohave input in our learning and experiences. It is fun to be able to have some authority to approve plansand projects that will make our schools better.”The relaunch of GMOF 2.0 is set to commence this month, with the first round of applications opening onSeptember 23rd. CMSD is committed to transparency and will publicly share the details of fundedproposals, highlighting the impactful work being done across the district.
