Euclid High School Sophomores were invited to attend the annual Lake Shore Compact CTE Expo, held in Daugherty Gymnasium on January 18th. The Expo was an opportunity for the Sophomore students to learn about the 16 Career Tech programs offered to Juniors through the Lake Shore Compact partnership between Euclid, Mentor and Wickliffe School Districts.
Program instructors and some of their current CTE Students set up displays to showcase their programs and offer prospective students insights into the career opportunities that are available at Euclid High School.
"This is a great opportunity to expose our sophomores to some of the career pathways that we offer,” Euclid Career Tech Coordinator Kayla Hunt said. “These programs are hands-on, with subject-focused instruction, and can help students earn industry credentials that will prepare them for a future in the workforce or a future in post-secondary education.”
In addition to the Expo sessions offered to students during the day, an evening session was offered for students to bring their families so that parents could meet the instructors and explore the program offerings for Juniors.
In total, the Lake Shore Compact offers 18 unique programs with 16 two-year programs and two senior-only programs that range from Construction Management to Early Childhood Education an
d help prepare students for life after high school.
"A student choosing career technical education today is no longer limited, but rather prepared to be both college-ready and career-ready,” Dr. Joe Glavan, Director of the Lake Shore Compact, wrote.
Students must apply for their program of choice by February 13, 2024. All Euclid Sophomores, including EVLA students, are eligible to submit an application.
