On April 5, 2024, The Bedford City School District and The Warrensville Heights City School District partnered for educational opportunities in science. The Center of Science and Industry (C.O.S.I.) collaborated with Bearcats and Tigers to provide 5th grade students with the opportunity to participate in hands on S.T.E.M activities pertaining to the April 8, 2024 Total Eclipse.

The students had the opportunity to send a post card into space and the post card was returned to them. With the help of Blue Origin Club for the Future and their technological advances, the students had an "out of this world" experience. Carylwood Intermediate student, Gabriella Fisher Grace, was interviewed by News Channel 5, and she gave the news station a student's perspective on the Solar Eclipse and the C.O.S.I. activities. Indeed, The Bedford City School District is proud of Gabriella and ALL of the Bearcats and Tigers that participated in this educational opportunity that prepared them for a once in a century event!
