Garfield Heights' Students Accompanied By Fathers and Father Figures for Annual Father's Walk to School Day
Families in the Garfield Heights City Schools participated in the 18th annual Father’s Walk, a tradition around the Greater Cleveland area to affirm the presence of fathers and father-figures in the lives of our students and their educational journeys. Students and fathers or father figures were greeted with great weather, and welcoming school buildings, who helped to warmly say hello to those who walked to school for this occasion.
In fact, the district even welcomed one Great-Grandfather of students at Maple Leaf! Fathers were also encouraged to take part in a pledge with several important pillars, including taking responsibility for their child’s education, encouraging children to be their best every day in school, to speak to their children about the value of education, and about supporting their teachers, among others. This special day is widely anticipated throughout the Garfield Heights City Schools, and on behalf of the district, we thank our fathers and our father figures for their support of our students.
