South Euclid Lyndhurst Students Attend Young Adult Book Festival
At South Euclid Lyndhurst's Charles S. Brush High School, staff members Katie Sutton and Sherri Charnock took the Intro to Creative Writing class and members of both the Creative Writing and Book Club to the CLE Reads Young Adult Book Festival: Stories Unbound held at the Cleveland Public Library. Students were privileged to hear civil rights activist and writer, Angela Y. Davis, along with young adult authors such as Justin Reynolds, Leah Johnson, and Don P. Hooper. The panelists focused on banned books and censorship. Students received complimentary copies of their works and had the opportunity to ask questions. Equipped with new perspectives, students will be able to understand the power of their own voices.
